Parent Governor elections

Dear Parent/Carer,

RE: PARENT GOVERNOR ELECTIONS

As a result of a parent governor’s term of office coming to an end, the Governing Body now has 1 vacancy for a Parent Governor.

All parents (including carers) of registered pupils at the school are eligible to stand for election. Should there be more nominations than vacancies to fill, a secret ballot will take place.

The term of office for Parent Governors will be as per the Instrument of Government for this school, which is 4 years.

Parents have an important role to play in the education of children and being a Parent Governor can give you an opportunity to contribute to the education of all children at your school. Training and support for Parent Governors is provided by both the school and the LA. If you would like further information on the role of the Parent Governor before considering application then please feel free to contact the school office where we can arrange for you to speak to a current serving Governor.

Parents who wish to be nominated should read carefully and complete the application form which can be found on the school website. If you require a paper copy then please contact the school office by phone or email.

Completed forms should be returned to the Headteacher by no later than Monday 4th March.

You should be aware that confirmation of appointment as a governor will be subject to satisfactory pre appointment checks. If you require further information regarding this please contact the Clerk to the Governing Body.
